16-18 June, 2006 – Participation in Days of Moscow in
Beijing
From 16th up to 18th of June 2006, a member of ISATR Executive Committee has taken part in
Days of Moscow in Beijing (People’s Republic of China) as a representative of Moscow City Government delegation, headed by Moscow City Major Yuri M. Luzhkov.
Event’s schedule included an official opening ceremony, “Moscow City to date” exhibition, business-forum, “Moscow-Beijing. History and modern view” exposition, enchanting gala performance.
“Moscow city to date” exhibition presented merchandise of dozens of Russian companies. The main share of exposition has been occupied by scientific and technological solutions of Russian companies, unique in the most cases. Introduction of Russian high-tech industry to Chinese colleagues has been the main task of this event.
During Beijing business-forum Moscow city Major Yuri M. Luzhkov has given promise that authorities of two capitals “will create favorable entourage to ensure active and productive cooperation of municipal structures serving our cities’ concerns”. He also added that Moscow “is interested in studying and implementing Beijing’s experience in development of economy and dealing with certain issues where China has found more effective solutions than other countries”.
“Moscow-Beijing. History and modern view” exposition has acquainted visitors with unique documents, serving proofs of China –Russian trade, industrial and cultural relations development in XVII-XX centuries. It has become also an event of importance for expansion of cultural contacts between two capitals. The exposition was based upon photos and documents from Moscow City archive funds. It consisted of documents, constituting rules of trade with china by land, Russian-Chinese concessions, banks, return of valuables to Chinese court by the Moscow City archeological society.
During the visit representative of Institute of Asia and Pacific region has had meeting and negotiations with Chinese officials and heads of certain Chinese companies.
