30th July – 9th August, 2005 – Participation in V Australian – Russian economic development Congress “New levels of cooperation in trade and investments fields”
From 30th of July up to 9th of August 2005 a representative of Institute of Asia and Pacific region took part in V Australian – Russian economic development Congress “New levels of cooperation in trade and investments fields” as a member of official Russian delegation. The event took place in cities of Sidney, Gold Coast and Brisbane (Australia).
The main task of V Australian – Russian economic development Congress was to form a favorable environment for creation of stable trade and industrial contacts between Russia and Australia, integrated in national economic systems.
Primary attention of Congress activities was paid to cooperation in such promising fields as oil and gas mining and manufacturing of oil and gas production equipment, issues of transportation, trade, information technologies, food industry, pharmaceutics, make-up production, construction and architecture, financial and investing activities, education, tourism. Members of the Congress had chance to get acquainted with Australian real estate market and development projects’ progress.
Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Australia, Trade representative of the Russian Federation in Australia, Consul-General of the Russian Federation in Australia, Chief trade representative of Australian trade committee in Moscow, Prime Minister of State Queensland, Minister for State Development, Trade and Innovation of State Queensland, Lord-Major of Gold Coast, Members of Parliament of State Queensland, Heads of Queensland Chamber of Commerce and Industry all took part in Congress activities.
During the visit representative of Institute of Asia and Pacific region had meetings and negotiations with Australian and Russian officials and heads of certain Australian companies.
